Go-Ped GSR Sport,
Within 5 days of using this Go-Ped the pull start failed. The failure of the pull start caused an internal problem with the “kill switch” which made the problem worse. Patmont motors sent me to a local shop to get it repaired. All of this took about a week to get resolved. I recommend buying something like this from your local shop even if you have to pay a few dollars more. It is very time consuming to deal with Amazon and the manufacturer over the phone. You have to explain a lot and answer questions and wait for parts to be mailed, etc. It’s much easier to take it into the store you bought from to resolve any warranty issues. Additionally, it wasn’t until I actually paid for it and received a confirmation that the true return policy was clearly spelled out which is “not returnable”. To Amazon’s credit, they did give me a discount for all the trouble.

|Go-Ped GSR sport review,
This is my first Go-Ped scooter and I love it. It’s got just the right amount of power to cruse around the city. Great buy with a life time warrenty on the frame. Made in America means something to Patmont Moter works. I tested it out going up some steep hills and it takes them like a champ with only a little help. It gets great gas milage and is not that loud. I am going to add a few aftermarket parts though to make it more efficient. Like a real air filter, velocity stack, Exhaust, and larger fule tank. It’s a two cycle engine that are easy to mantain and find parts for, If you have a gas weed waker it’s almost the same concept. I only know the basics with 2 and 4 stroke engines but thats more then enough to mantain. Google provieds answers to things I don’t know and their are go-ped communites online that are great resorces to mods and things you can do. Well worth my investment.

|AWESOME Go-Ped GSR Sport…Top Notch,Done Right,Good Scooter,
If you are looking for a good all around scooter that doesn’t break the bank then this is it. After reading the reviews here on Amazon I was a little bit skeptical about buying a Go-Ped product as they are not scored very high. The problems that people have with the scooters seemed to be self induced so I ignored them and bought TWO of these Go-Ped GSR Sports anyway and am now very glad that I did.
Many complained that the engines were cheap, do not work well, and that they move slowly, but I find all of those statements to be quite wrong. If you take your time and read the manual and then break the engines in properly you should have no problem with your engine seizing up or breaking. After breaking in both motors on both of my units I can push them as hard as I like and I am not worried about anything! Be sure to run the correct oil to fuel ratio and follow Go-Peds or Dave’s Motors dot com instructions on how to properly heat cycle a 2 stroke engine!
Many say that this scooter is slow and that the chain drive system is not as good as the direct drive of the Go-Ped Sport. Again I am going to have to disagree. If you take into account that an engine about the size of my fist can propel a human weighing around 180 to 20+ mph it is quite amazing. Is 20mph slow? NO, but there is faster (with a larger engine more speed is possible), but for 29cc’s these little things get around very well. The chain drive makes it so your engines drive shaft is not constantly loaded is it is with direct drive. Your tire will also last longer due to not having a knurled spindle rubbing against it. You will be able to go longer without adjusting the engine mounts because you can have some slack in your chain, but you cannot have a loose connection of the spindle to your rear wheel. The chain drive also allows you to idle when stopped. This is very useful when driving about when you have to go slower than 2 mph or make stops as you just hit the accelerator and it goes ( instead of bump starting it ). The chain drive also allows you to coast down hills without your engine being engaged. If you have a direct drive your engines rpms will always match the rear tires rpms, but with a clutch system you can coast down hills s fast as you like and, as long as you do not lay on the gas, your engine will not connect with the bell and allow you to coast as fast as you like without revving the engine.
The scooter is very well built and the frame and fork come with a lifetime warranty which is always a good thing. The only plastic parts are the rear fender, the accelerator, gas tank, rims, and engine covers. The rims are built very strong and thick and you do not have to worry about damaging them as the solid tires protect them and because of the amount of plastic. The rear fender is also made of thick plastic and will not be easy to crack or break. Assembling the scooters is also very easy as all you have to do is install a pin to hold the handle to the scooter and you are done. Another very good point to consider is that Go-Ped carries EVERY part you will ever need and has been doing so for a very long time. This is different from all the other Chinese scooters and will be worth paying the extra money for a brand name, American made product (minus the engine
.
Upgrading is always an important thing to consider as most will want to improve on already good performance. You will be happy to know that the stock engine is very upgradable and the parts to make these run better and faster are relatively cheap. Upgrades that I have done to both of my units and highly recommend are a HP carburetor, a v-stack and air filter (I use UNI), and a gas tank cover to protect your valuable gas tank! The only other upgrade that I would consider is the addition of a tuned exhaust pipe as it will makes the scooter gain a mph or two on the top end and give it better low end response. If you upgrade the air filter and the carburetor you will gain better acceleration and a high top speed with very little invested where as a pipe will cost you quite a bit more.
So far I have ridden BOTH units for a few hours a day and have gone on 7+ mile trips with no problems what so ever. The small 6″ tires can handle most riding conditions and show little wear for how much I have been riding them. These things pull me up hills just fine even when they are quite steep (and I weigh around 180lbs). You can also ride on gravel, hard packed dirt, and rough pavement, but you will feel the vibrations as it is a solid framed system.
Over all, I am very pleased with both of my purchases and would do it all again in a minute. With the cost of the scooters and the cheap price of upgrades I do not have much into them and they are an absolute blast. If you oil the chain, oil your air filter, mix your fuel correctly, and break the engine in correctly you will be fine and have no problems!
